Hampstead Norreys Village
Urgent roof repairs will
be carried out on the Village Hall roof starting
Friday, 1st July.
For this repair to be
undertaken ground to guttering level scaffolding will be installed along the whole
length of the South facing side and part of the Western side of the
Hazard “warning signs”
asking people to stay clear of the structure will be displayed on and around the
Weather permitting the
repair work is expected to last up-to 10days.
Hampstead Norreys is an historic
village recorded in the Doomsday Book
Historic walks and afternoon teas are organised for groups in the spring and
summer and full details are available here. Currently these walks have been suspended due to Covid
19 restrictions. They will restart in Spring 2022.

Energy Costs in Rural
is affected by the rapidly rising costs of
energy which is a global phenomena. However rural areas are disproportionately affected as many
like Hampstead Norreys has no gas supply and must rely on oil for home heating. The cost of
domestic heating oil is not controlled by government so the prices reflected the large global price
However there is some help for local residents through the Oil Buyers Group. If you are not already
a member then take a look at the group's page.
Queen Elizabeth II Platinum
On 2nd June
Hampstead Norreys come alive again after over two years of “lockdown” and
enjoying the four fabulous days of Platinum Jubilee Celebratory
A big ‘thank you’’
must go to the small group of organisers , those members of the W.I. who
baked the Jubilee Pie, the large number of volunteers ( click here to see
list) and all the participants who helped make the four day
event a great success.
Thanks must also go to the
Greenham Trust, our Parish Council, our Community Shop, our White Hart Pub,
our Village Hall, Beechwood Eggs, and all the individuals who made generous
grants and donations to fund the events. Thanks also to the Betts Family
for allowing the use of one of their barns for the “street lunch” to take
place out of the inclement weather.
We very much hope that the weekend’s celebrations will mark the restart of the
successful social activities that our lovely community
